Social media

Social media has become one of the most important media developments in the 21st century. It’s how we keep in touch with our families and friends who live far away, it’s how we share our emotions and it’s become our major source for news. It’s amazing especially with apps like Twitter and Facebook where I get the bulk of my news for the day how much I feel like I have missed when I check my apps first thing in the morning. Social media has become the most common way for businesses to interact with their customers. Now-a-days we if your business does not have an active social media presence you are missing out on connecting and creating relationships with your customer. Social media is something that will not go away it’s going to continue to grow.

My personal favorite social media site is Twitter. For me, while sometimes condensing my thoughts and opinions into 140 characters is tricky, that’s what makes it fun. It took me a while to really adapt to the way Twitter worked but once I got the hang of it I couldn’t stop using it. I especially like to use it to follow celebrities and sports teams, I feel like I can interact with more people who have the same interests as me on Twitter rather than Facebook. I really like taking a look at what is trending on Twitter because I feel like I get my daily dose of news from that more than I would from actual local or national news networks.
