Making The Most Out Of Disney Springs

To many local Floridians, Central Florida is usually avoided at any cost unless you live there. Being one of the largest major tourist spots in the country, Central Florida is usually the busiest in the Summer months. Home to an array of amusement parks and resorts such as Universal, SeaWorld and the most famous of them all, Disney World, Orlando is the spot to be at for some family friendly fun.

Many people view Orlando as an “Amusement Park City” and nothing more. They could not be more wrong. They don’t realize that you can have the luxury of enjoying many of these famous attractions for little to no cost. Disney Springs — formally known as Downtown Disney — is a prime example of this.

Disney Springs is a great spot to visit if you’re visiting from out of town and really want some Disney magic without having to break your bank. In the Springs there are many different places to shop and eat as well as different entertainment for the entire family to enjoy. Lets start with the food.

Disney Springs offers a variety of places to eat from 5 star restaurants to food trucks. If you’re looking for some entertainment while dining, hit up the Rainforest Cafe located on the East side of the Springs. They have huge aquariums filled with over 30 different types of fish all throughout the restaurant. Scattered within the dining halls are animatronic Gorillas and Elephants and guests can even experience thunderstorms while enjoying their meal. At night around 9pm, you can see the firework show from Disney’s Magic Kingdom at their Lava Lounge. If Rainforests aren’t your thing but you still want the same entertainment aspect, head over across the bridge to T-Rex. Their restaurant is all Dinosaur themed. When you walk in, you feel like you’re in a land before time.

Although these fun places may be entertaining, some guests like that hands on experience while dining. If you’re one of these people, than I suggest heading on down to Splitsville at the very end of the West side. Splitsville is a great spot to hang out and enjoy yourself with friends as you eat and enjoy some friendly competition through bowling.

If you’re in the mood for something a little bit more casual and budget friendly, head over to Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza behind Planet Hollywood. At Blaze, you’re able to customize your own hand made personal pizza and can enjoy the quiet corner this place is in while dining. Chicken Guy! is another popular place for some casual yet delicious dining. If you’re a Chicken lover, than this is definitely the place for you.

Now if you’re in the mood for a good date night or if you just want to treat yourself, Disney Springs has a lot of great options to make your night worth remembering. Morimoto is a huge attraction in Disney Springs. Owned by world renowned Chef, Chef Masaharu Morimoto, millions of people love to visit his restaurant and are in awe when they see the beautiful interior. This place is definitely one that you wont forget. There are also some places that overlook the water such as Paddlefish and The Boathouse which are great to have a night out at.

The restaurants aren’t the only highlights in the Springs. It’s practically impossible to not do some shopping while at Disney Springs. From Disney merchandise stores to name brand shops, there’s bound to be something for everyone.

Disney Springs is home to the largest Disney merchandise store in the entire world. In the shop you can find collectibles, fashion items and toys for people of all ages to enjoy. You can’t forget about the candy they sell in the checkout lines! If you have a real sweet tooth, head over to Goofy’s Candy Store on the West side or Mickey’s Candy Cauldron on the East side to satisfy your needs.

If you’re looking to do some lowkey shopping, the strips in the Springs is the best place to go. Located between the East and West sides are shops that include Zara, Sephora, and Under Armor. It’ll be hard to not want to spend your money here.

Disney Springs is a great way of getting in that Disney feel all while having no rush of it being too hot or having to wait in line for any rides. You can sit down and enjoy some drinks or can shop until you drop. If you’re looking for some fun and to have a great time, remember Disney Springs the next time you’re down in Central Florida.
